On the road to the northern region of Ghana - part 2

Na 2 nachten in Kumasi te hebben geslapen gaan we op dinsdag richting Tamale, een afstand van bijna 400 km waar we ruim 7 uur over doen. Onderweg is er genoeg te zien...

After spending two nights in Kumasi we continue our road trip into the direction of Tamale, a distance of about 400 km. This will take us about 7 hours. We keep our eyes open...


Fully loaded for Burkina Faso, on top as well as inside. Only the driver's seat is empty...

In plaats van direct naar Tamale te rijden maken we een omweg van 3 uur om de moskee in Larabanga te bezoeken. Deze Moskee is waarschijnlijk het oudste West Sudanees gebouw in Ghana. Men zegt dat het in 1421 gebouwd is. Het is gemaakt van modder en stokken. Alleen mannen mogen er naar binnen

Instead of driving straight to Tamale we decide to make a detour of 3 hours to visit the mosque of Larabanga. This mosque is the oldest known West Sudanese structure in Ghana, build in 1421. It is made out of mud and sticks. Only men are allowed inside.
