Alles is ingepakt, in wel 3 lagen verschillende verpakkingsmaterialen, klaar om verscheept te worden in een container over de oceaan

4 dagen zijn ze bezig geweest om alles stuk voor stuk in te pakken
They needed 4 days to pack all items one by one
Daar gaat de vliegende sofa van 8 hoog naar beneden! Als het niet in de lift past, moet het buitenom!

De grote zware spullen worden in houten kratten verpakt voor extra bescherming
The bigger items are wrapped in wooden crates for extra protection
En dan staat alles op straat, het verkeer kruipt in de eeuwige file voorbij
While the traffic jam is looking on, the stuff is placed on the sidewalk
Met busjes wordt het hele spul op de laatste dag afgevoerd om, voordat het de container ingaat, door de douane nagekeken te worden. Dat is in Brazilië een heel gedoe waarbij gekeken wordt of we wel alles weer mee het land uit nemen wat we 2,5 jaar geleden ingebracht hebben... Met name electrische apparaten (mijn Bernina!) moeten er allemaal weer inzitten, kapot of niet. Deze inspectie gaat weken duren.... Grrr!
With small vans all items are hoisted to an area where customs will inspect all goods. In Brazil this is a long bureaucratic process where they check if all we brought in 2.5 years ago, we take with us again out of Brazil. Especially electronics (my Bernina!) have to be taken out again, broken or not. This process can take a couple of weeks.... Grrr!
And now we wait!
