Workshop Box Making

The workshops for box making are given in Accra, Ghana. We work as much as possible with local products like fabrics, glue and acid free cardboard. As the availability of good quality cardboard is limited, I bring grey board in from Holland in my suitcase. ;)

What will you learn?
During workshop I will introduce the principles of Box Making. At the end of the workshop you will be taking home your very own Box.

There are 3 different levels:

·       Introduction to Box Making (Beginners’ box): you will learn how to measure and cut cardboard and how to cover the box with fabric.

·      Intermediate level Box Making (Tea/Sewing/Jewelry box): you will learn a more intrinsic technique of box making and how to make dividers

·       Advanced level of Box Making (two-tier Jewellery box): how to make a ‘two tier’ box with a tray

·       Picture frames: make two sets of picture frames in one morning, for picture size 10x15cm and 13x18cm (portrait)

When are the workshops?
The workshops take place once a week, on Mondays or Wednesdays with a minimum of 2 and max 4 people.

The introduction to Box making is from 8.30AM to ± 1PM.
The intermediate workshop is from 8.30AM to ± 2PM.
The advanced workshop takes two mornings from 8.30AM to ± 1PM.
The picture frame workshop is from 8.30AM to ± 1PM
